This course breaks down the differences between solid wood lumber, wood veneer, and wood grain laminates and when to use each in commercial furniture settings like corporate offices, government buildings, and healthcare spaces. We’ll explore grain patterns, the strengths and quirks of common American hardwoods, and what FSC certification actually means. In-person attendees also get hands-on time applying stains and finishes to different veneers to see firsthand how each species takes color.
