Gerald A. Evenstad, Founder
(1948 – 2015)
We continue to warmly acknowledge our Founder, Gerald Evenstad, with memories of a great man who started Nevers in 1976 out of his love of fine woodworking. Gerry grew Nevers Oak into a nationally-recognized meeting room furniture company which eventually became the firm we are now: Nevers Industries.
Gerry was gracious and gregarious to everyone he ever met. He was an avid reader, enjoyed rounds of golf and was quick to laugh. He was passionate about Nevers and the employees. His respect for his team was unbounded, and he was deeply proud of their many talents. He felt a great sense of gratification in building elegant and finely-crafted furniture for his customers.
A U.S. Army veteran, Gerry was stationed in Vietnam from 1968 to 1971. It was an enormous source of personal pride in his life. He was doubly honored when Nevers was commissioned to build furniture for the U.S. Military, the Pentagon and the White House.
Gerry’s intellect, vision and cheerfulness is still missed by all at Nevers.
